How Memphis has changed the way police respond to mental health crises

PBS reported on the Memphis Police Department last week, that has pioneered a model to better serve people experiencing a mental health crisis. The "Memphis Model," which aims to keep both officers and citizens safe and send fewer people to jail, has spread to almost 3,000 law enforcement agencies across the country.
