The Urban Child Institute—an organization working to educate the public on the vital importance of early child development—released a report last week on the status of Memphis' children. Through data-driven research and result-oriented initiatives, the group has discovered that many of our community's problems can be solved by making a few easy changes during the critical ages of zero to three.
The report,
"Off to a Good Start: Social and Emotional Development of Memphis’ Children," builds on past findings of cognitive and physical development and focuses on a child's ability to problem solve, develop resilience, handle stress and interact appropriately with other children and adults.
