Medical District

Situated between Midtown and Downtown, the Medical District was developed as a central location to serve the healthcare needs of the Mid-South. It employs 30,000 people and educates another 7,800 students each day across its numerous colleges and universities. Recently, the Memphis Medical District Collaborative began work in the area to improve safety, amenities, and infrastructure, including crosswalk updates and a newly installed dog park at Madison Ave. and North Orleans. Through these efforts, the MMDC hopes to inspire more people to live the neighborhood, which rationally been seen only as an economic and employment hub.
