Brooks Museum offers free day to locals

This October, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art is kicking off new hours featuring a full free day every Wednesday. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, providing 10 hours of free access to everything the museum offers. Some of the museum’s ticketed evening programming, including Brooks Films, will also move to Wednesdays starting in October.

“We are excited to change our hours so that the 1.3 million residents of greater Memphis can enjoy free access to the museum for an unprecedented amount of time every Wednesday,” says Dr. Emily Ballew Neff, executive director of the Brooks Museum. “We had record attendance for The Art of Video Games this summer, and we want to make it possible for even more Memphians and visitors to take in the fun, educational, amusing, thoughtful and other varied experiences the Brooks offers.  This is one of many steps that we’re taking to raise our profile as we get ready to celebrate our 100th birthday.”
