The 34th annual Outdoors Inc. Canoe and Kayak Race is scheduled for June 20

This month recreational and expert canoe and kayak paddlers from all over the world will meet in Memphis for the Outdoor Inc. Canoe and Kayak Race (OICK Memphis).  

The race has been voted as the "Best Race in America” by Paddler Magazine, and boasts a robust lineup of paddler champions.  Among the slated competitors, Greg Barton of Charleston, SC - USA double Olympic Gold Medalist, double Bronze Medalist, 4 World Championships, and a US National surf ski champion, will be returning to Memphis as the 6-time winner.
 
The race begins on Mud Island at the mouth of the Wolf River into the Mississippi River and subsequently finishes in Memphis Harbor.

9:20 a.m. Contestants' Meeting
10:15 a.m. Start
12:30 p.m. Awards After Party featuring live music by the Bluff City Backsliders
 
We are "paddling the mighty Mississippi River for over a third of a century and pledging to leave the park cleaner than we found it," says event promoter Teresa Faulk.
