New Ballet Ensemble staging new production, summer camps

New Ballet Ensemble has a new show, Springloaded, debuting in April, as well as summer camps beginning in June.

Drawing inspiration from the creative flow of the Midtown Opera Festival, Springloaded features ballet, tap, break dance and flamenco-infused works starring multiple dancers as the notoriously capricious Carmen. A jazz ballet choreographed by General Hambrick foreshadows the Rhodes College presentation of Dave Brubeck's The Real Ambassadors.

Springloaded culminates in New Ballet's quintessentially genre-defying style with a blend of improvisational hip-hop, ballet, and flamenco starring Noelia Garcia Carmona. New Ballet incubator partners Out Loud Artistry and Memphis Breakers make special appearances.
