We Sustain Shelby campaign prompts people to go green

The Memphis -Shelby County Office of Sustainability is ringing in the new year with some green resolutions for county citizens. Through the We Sustain Shelby campaign, they hope to prompt people to make small changes that will have a large collective impact on the environment and quality of life in Shelby County.

Starting on February 1, the Office of Sustainability is launching the campaign to help local individuals and groups cut energy and water use, reduce waste, and be better stewards of the environment. Over six months this year, the organization will issue playful contests designed to help local residents go green while also saving money. Their goal is to make participation easy and fun, empowering people to take actions in their everyday life and get more connected to their home.

They are asking citizens to join the campaign to commit to doing their part to renew and improve the community. People can compete solo, as a family, or with a company team to earn points for each recommended action completed. Prizes will be issued weekly with a grand prize awarded on July 1st.  Sign up now to join the campaign.
