Startup ProxBox gives realtors a leg up

Bryan Barringer, President and Founder of ProxBox, has been working on startups for three decades. His current venture focuses on solving real estate paper overload, poor customer satisfaction, and headaches caused by difficulty scheduling showings. The ProxBox application has several features for addressing these issues every real estate agent is acutely familiar with. ProxBox allows listing agents to put together a full press kit, and collect feedback directly from interested buyers. It also allows agents to create detailed room-by-room tours using beacons, allowing for more effective open houses. To tackle the fatigue and back-and-forth of scheduling showings, the app has a calendar feature so agents can instantly see when a house can be shown. The final feature confronts a sensitive subject -- agent security. “A friend of mine’s mother was a real estate agent and was murdered 20 years ago, so this is very near and dear to my heart,” Barringer said. “This one button security feature allows for emergency contacts and the authorities to be called.”

Barringer and Cofounder Chelsea White recently completed the Seed Hatchery accelerator at StartCo, which provides $25K investment dollars for business to business solutions, as well as countless hours of programming. “We love this program. ProxBox will be the most successful startup I’ve done in 30 years because of this program,” Barringer said.

Barringer and White plan on staying in Memphis to grow their business. Both are long-term residents of Memphis, and are excited about being part of the growth of the city. As for what happens now that Seed Hatchery has wrapped? “StartCo never really finishes. Demo Day is an important Thursday, but there’s a Friday right after it,” Barringer said.

ProxBox has secured an endorsement deal with Keller-Williams, and memberships for listing agents start at $15 per month. Learn more about ProxBox at their website
