CrazyBeautiful has signed a lease in Overton Square

CrazyBeautiful has signed a lease with Loeb Properties for 1,500 square feet at 2111 Madison Ave. in Overton Square between Breakaway Running and Sweet Noshings. The women's clothing boutique is currently located on Walker Ave. in the University District.

"Two years ago, we began looking into moving to midtown, and have watched the steady growth of the Square," owner Erika Smith said in a prepared statement. "We couldn't be more thrilled about the opportunity to finally be located among other new thriving businesses. We are so excited to be a part of the hip synergy at Overton Square."

The lease signing comes on the heels of other high-profile businesses opening in the Square, including Jimmy Ishii's Robata Ramen & Yakitori Bar, just across Madison Ave., and Hattiloo Theatre to the south.

CrazyBeautiful was founded in 2004 and features such name brands as BBDakota, Ark&Company, Flying Tomato and Audrey 3+1. In addition to CrazyBeautiful, Smith also owns boutique clothing store Stock&Belle, which recently began a $150,000 renovation on 14,000 square feet at 387 S. Main St. It has operated as a pop-up store in the downtown space since 2013 and was recently granted a $40,000 forgivable loan from the Center City Development Corp. for renovation and upgrades.

Smith plans to open a pop-up store in Overton Square at 2092 Trimble Pl. on August 1 while her permanent home, with an opening date in October, is under construction.

"CrazyBeautiful is a unique boutique retailer that will be a perfect complement to our existing business," said Aaron Petree, Vice President, Brokerage for Loeb. "Not only do they bring with it a loyal customer base, but they also offer restaurant and theatre patrons another place to shop, making Overton Square that much more of a destination."
