TDOT requests funding for water taxis on the Mississippi

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has put in a request for funding for water taxis on the Mississippi River to the City of Memphis at the request of the Memphis Riverfront Development Corporation. 

TDOT has received an $800,000 federal grant for it. The money, according to TDOT, can only be used for vessels and dock improvements. Stops along the way would be Beale Street Landing, Mud Island River Park, and Bass Pro Shops at The Pyramid.
