SCS Pre-K screenings begin this week

Shelby County Schools will begin its application process for pre-K enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year on Monday, March 2, 2015.  Pre-K classes will be offered at select elementary schools across Memphis and Shelby County, as well as partner locations.  The Pre-K program is tuition free, proven school-readiness initiative designed to help children be adequately prepared for kindergarten.

To enroll, children must: reside within Shelby County, turn four years old on or before August 15, and complete the screening process to determine eligibility.

First priority will be given to those children that meet income qualifications for "economically disadvantaged".  Second priority is given to those children identified as educationally at risk for school failure.
