Upcoming family activities at the Dixon

Bring the whole family to the Dixon for some summer fun! The scale and bright colors of our Jun Kaneko exhibition and the interesting varieties included in our succulent exhibition make for an exciting walk around the Dixon property. We also have some special family events planned to keep you cool and enjoy the summer season.

Family Night: The Art of Camping is Saturday, July 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and is open to all ages. It is a family event where you can get camping tips, make unique art projects, look at the stars, enjoy traditional camp snacks and test your explorer skills. It is a free, outdoor event with weather permitting.

You can also bring the whole family to cool off at the Dixon in August at Splash Time at the Dixon on Saturday, August 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. There will be sprinklers, fans, popsicles and games, and it’s free with admission.

Our next Family Studio events are Saturday, August 1 and September 5 from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Bring the entire family to the Dixon for Family Studio where everyone can create unique works of art, open studio-style. Each month there will be new projects and a large assortment of supplies to produce artwork as a family. You can drop in any time and it is free for all participants.

The Dixon features a permanent collection of over 2,000 objects, including French and American Impressionist paintings and significant holdings of German and English porcelain.
