Challenge: A blight fight duel

The City of Memphis and Memphis City Beautiful present the 2015 Faith In Action Memphis Cleanup, April 18-26. Memphians will fight blight to beautify the city of Memphis.

Faith in Action has put out the call to action to all individuals, community groups, fraternities and sororities, churches and schools.

Last year, the Faith In Action Memphis Cleanup became the largest citywide cleanup with over 12,000 participants. Their goal for 2015--15,000 volunteers who will fight blight and beautify Memphis.

From FIA website, they pose an interesting challenge, "If we can fill up those 18,119 seats in the FedEx Forum to support our very own Memphis Grizzlies, then at least 80% of those 18,119 people (15,000 people) can surely make a difference and take pride in the city".

To make the week more exciting, FIA leaders are also encouraging churches, organizations and businesses to challenge one another as it concerns their number of volunteers.
