Demolition is set to begin at Foote Homes, the last standing of Memphis' traditional housing projects. Once demolished, the site will be redeveloped as South City, a mixed-income neighborhood supported by a $30 million federal grant.

Memphis activists protested Attorney General Jeff Sessions' May 23 visit to Memphis, citing Sessions' clashes with minorities and marginalized groups.
