Germantown

Once the site of Nashoba Community, a utopian community for emancipated slaves, Germantown was incorporated in 1841. It has one of the lowest crime rates in the state and the highest per capita income of any municipality in Shelby County. The city’s population of nearly 40,000 enjoy over 700 acres of parklands and miles of trails and greenlines, including the Wolf River Greenway. It’s also home to the Germantown Charity Horse Show, Germantown Performing Arts Center and the annual Germantown Festival.
